If you’re a baseball fan, hopefully, you’ve caught some good spring training games as the nation’s top teams warm up right in our backyard. If that’s not your thing, however, the area offers a variety of diversions to check out. Why not try some of these fun family-friendly Tampa events this spring?

Tampa Events: Children’s Services Community Fair

When: Saturday, March 23, 2019; 10 AM to 2 PM

Where: Lake Magdalene Campus

Cost: Free


Learn about the different programs Children’s Services runs in the area at this family-friendly event. With free food and entertainment, you’ll be able to learn more about local resources and services for you and your family.

Tampa Events: Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival Launch

When: Sunday, March 24th, 2019 5 PM – 9 PM

Where: Thap Courtyard, 5508 North 50th St.

Cost: Free

Enjoy beautiful costumes, great music, and tempting Caribbean treats that will take you to the islands. The Carnival launch is an explosion of color and culture. There’s plenty of excitement for everyone—and there’s more to come with additional events!

Tampa Events: Taste of the Cuban Sandwich

When: March 30 & 31st

Where: Centro Asturiano (3/30) and Centennial Park (3/31)

Cost: Free Admission

If you’re a fan of a good Cuban sandwich—you can’t miss this delicious festival. And if you want more Caribbean flair, don’t hesitate to grabs some pinchos, alcapurias, tostones, and more. This two-day festival—held in two different locations— is overflowing with amazing Latin flavors and flair. Great music, wonderful vendors, and amazing challenges are all par for the course. Watch as a team attempts to make the biggest Cuban sandwich in the World on Saturday, or check out the kid’s sandwich showdown! Lots of fun for everyone! If you’re ready to fill up on Saturday, you’ll want to head to Centro Asturiano in Ybor City. On Sunday, check out Centennial Park for all the pork you can eat.

Tampa Events: Hyde Park Family Fun Night

When: April 5th, 2019 & May 3rd, 2019; 5:30-7:30

Where: 1602 W Snow Ave

Cost: Free


Level up your game night at Hyde Park Family Fun Night.  Get ready to test your skill with old-school arcade games and board games. Feast on festival fare like hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy, all while enjoying music with the family. What a fun way to end the week!

When: April 6th, 2019; 10:30 – 11:30

Where: Kate Jackson Park

Cost: Free

Don’t get changed out of those PJs just yet! Grab a beloved blankie or stuffie and head on over to Kate Jackson Park for a fun storytime with Doublemint Sitting. Find the sweet Little Free Library and hunker down for a great tale! This event is held on the first Saturday of every month, so if you can’t make it this month, try to catch it next month! Next month (May 4th), a Hillsborough County Firefighter will be leading story time!

Tampa Events: Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival

When: April 12th – April 28th 10 AM – 10 PM

Where: Pier 60 Park

Cost: 11 & up: $10; 4 -10: $8, 3 & under: free


Building sand castles never gets old—and the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival takes sand architecture to another level. Featuring 1,000 tons of sand, this year’s theme is “Sea the World, a Journey Around the Globe.” And it’s not just the sand artists who are getting in on the action! There’s a giant sandbox for the kids to build in and enjoy, plus music, fireworks, and more. Check the website for event specifics and purchase tickets for the events you want to attend.

Tampa Events: Northdale Family Fun Festival & Parade

When: Saturday, April 13th, 2019; 10 AM – 2 PM

Where: Northdale Recreation Center

Cost: Free


If you’re a fan of free, then you can’t beat the Northdale Family Fun Festival & Parade. With free food, free parking, free games, and free entertainment, it’s the perfect family-friendly event for spring. Enjoy a variety of food samples for area restaurants and shop for cool local vendors. There will be bottled water to keep you hydrated so make sure to head over early for the parade, which will be led by the Gaither High School Marching Band.

Tampa Events: Spring EGGSTRAVAGANZA by Florida Technical College

When: Saturday, April 13th, 2019; 10 AM – 2 PM

Where: Florida Technical College, Lakeland Campus

Cost: Free


If you’re looking to meet the Easter Bunny this year, Florida Technical College is providing the perfect opportunity. Grab a selfie with the popular bunny, hunt for some eggs, and enjoy some music with the family at this fun Tampa Easter event.  In addition to two Easter egg hunts (one for 1- to 5-year-olds and a second for 6- to 19-year-olds), there will be multiple chances to enter into an Easter basket raffle! So hop on over for a good time!

Tampa Events:  Spring Gospel Festival

When: Saturday, April 13th, 2019; 3 PM – 8 PM

Where: Sarasota Fairgrounds

Cost: Free


Bring some chairs and a blanket and be prepared to be wowed by some amazing voices. Dancing and singing are encouraged, plus there will be food vendors on hand with some tasty morsels. Performers include The Brothers of Harmony, TLCW, Wings of Love, and Debra Bee, among others. This family-friendly event is all about community, so grabbed some loved ones and plan for a good time!

Tampa Events:  Maven Market Spring Fling Market Fest

When: Saturday, April 13th, 2019; 12 PM – 5 PM

Where: Maven Market Channel District

Cost: Free


This year’s Maven Market Spring Fling Market Fest features an Easter Egg Hunt in addition to music, art activities, and, of course, shopping. Take the little guys out to find pastel-hued eggs while you shop for the latest in home decor—or the most vintage. With numerous vendors, a variety of styles, and delicious food, it has all the makings of a fun event.

Tampa Events: Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival

When: Saturday, April 20th, 2019; 1 PM

Where: Florida State Fairgrounds

Cost: Adults $20, Children 5-10 $10


Feel the flavor at the Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival. This large carnival is a feast for the eyes, with gorgeous exhibits and crafts and an exciting street parade. A variety of bands and musicians representing many Caribbean cultures are set to entice with their rhythms, while the menu is chock-full of delicious Caribbean fare.
