When you are charged with cocaine possession, you could get jail time, a fine and a record if you are found guilty. In North Miami, one man, who has been in trouble with the law in the past, is being charged with drugging a woman with cocaine and raping her after they went for drinks together.
He was free on bail, a $10,000 bond, while waiting for his trial to begin. This was a concern for the prosecutors. After that arrest and charge, he has now been arrested on another charge that is drug-related. He let a 24-year-old exotic dancer die of a cocaine overdose in her car. He put her in her car, drove her to a remote spot and left her die without calling 911. He allegedly gave her the drugs she overdosed on.
The latest charge is for felony murder. He allegedly told the police that he knew she was overdosing and that he felt that he was guilty.
The 60-year-old man that has been charged was arrested for the death last week. His bond was revoked from the previous charge of drugging and raping a woman in October. He is now in jail until his trial comes up.
The police speculate that he may have done this before. Charging drug suppliers with overdose deaths is rare but not totally new in the area of south Florida.
